They both sit at the table with their heads sitting on their crossed arms, stretched out over the surface. Green eyes and red eyes both stare silently and contemplatively at the floating red orb bobbing up and down slowly between them, giving off a glow that ignites both their faces with red and makes the kitchen of their small, shared apartment look like it’s soaked in blood.
Twice Soul considers speaking up, but then he forgoes the idea forming in his head and keeps his mouth shut, favoring to stare apathetically at the Kishin Egg Soul.
“…sooooooo.” Maka breaks the silence, lifting one finger and cautiously poking the rubbery evil soul, as though it might bite her like the owner of it tried to do to Soul. “This is our first Kishin Soul…”
“Yup.” Soul answers casually. They both feel accomplished, but at a loss at what to do next.
“And, as a weapon,” Maka continues. “I’m the one who’s supposed to absorb it.”
